The vibrant Peggy’s Café is the most visible part of The Open Door, the part visitors see when they first come in.  The cafe is welcoming to everyone and the role of a volunteer is not just to make and serve food and drinks.  A very important aspect is to befriend the customers, and when appropriate to sit down and chat with them, to help dispel loneliness and lend an ear to their concerns.
